In the next two years your mailbox may contain one of 10 million special invitations to experience the dark side of federal government. The invite comes in the form of a notice by the Internal Revenue Service to audit your tax returns. You will have the potential to dive into an economic black hole. 400,000 taxpayers will receive a bonus audit. Labeled by the speech police in Washington as a hard audit it is really an extended trip visiting up to six years of your personal and business tax returns.
Business owners and families are encouraged to seek out and ask anyone who has been through any audit to describe what it did to their lives. Your friends and social media do not post on Facebook or tweet about their tax audit. Taxpayers that financially survive a hard audit talk less than a bronze statue. Just observing the pain displayed in their facial expressions reveals the whole story.
Supposedly the federal government cares about its citizens, why then do we allow the IRS to financially water board them? A simple one-word answer reveals all, your government needs: revenue.
America’s tax collection is broken. The federal government looks to the IRS to increase collections. Our elected officials refuse to modify taxation and its collection because they only care about being reelected. As our deficit increases, the executive branch has unleashed the dogs of tax war to sniff out tax cheats. If a citizen monitored a training class for IRS agents they would hear the instructor boom out to his students, “everybody steals from the government by cheating on their taxes!” This is a quote from the book by Richard A. Green poetically titled Agents of Deceit. Mr. Green is a CPA and former IRS agent. He lived on the dark side for years. According to the IRS’s own survey, only 37% of taxpayers admit guilt.
Instructors that train new agents are just clones when displaying integrity. Never let the facts get in the way when it comes to indoctrinating personnel. In war there is always collateral damage. Never let the slaying of an innocent taxpayer impede your job. Revenue for Washington is the only goal.
The best protection afforded a taxpayer is to employ a plan to deal with an audit. Honestly compiling and paying your taxes is not a plan. A large majority of taxpayers will deem spending time and energy to research and plan is a waste of their valuable time. Too late they will discover the errors of their decision. 400,000 taxpayers will disappear into the black hole vortex. Innocent sheep have a better chance of survival. When the wolf’s appetite is satisfied they stop killing. The federal government’s appetite for your hard-earned dollars is never fulfilled.
